Field Foreman – Grounds Maintenance Division
Wage Range: $20.00 - $24.00

Job Duties:
Grow the division by obtaining new residential and commercial contracts with the help of the operations manager – includes: meeting with new clients, providing quotes, preparing contracts, and following up with the customer about job related details and satisfaction of work
Plan and manage the loading/unloading of trucks and trailers in the AM and PM including all daily labor, equipment and materials required to complete daily objectives
Cut grass, trim edges, clean up refuse, blow trimmings, fertilize and water turf areas and perform other lawn care duties
Move and install soil, mulch and plant material to assist with the construction of landscape gardens and related areas
Spray and dust areas to control insects and or weeds
Operate power equipment including, but not limited to, lawn tractors, lawn mowers, line trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, pruning saws, sod cutters, chain saws, and snow blowers
Supervise the work of crew members to ensure proper safety, quality, and productivity
Inspect all work for quality to eliminate the need for return visits and/or re-work due to quality or customer satisfaction issues
Manage safety, quality, and productivity of work at sites/shop/yard etc.
Maintain and enforce standards of cleanliness and organization in assigned trucks, trailers, equipment, jobsites, and shop/yard areas
Delegate job tasks to appropriate crew members to assist in the completion of project
Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning frequently or when requested
Ensure the highest amount of quality has been delivered to the client on budget and on time
Train new employees, in the grounds maintenance division, to ensure tasks are accomplished correctly, on time, within budget and in compliance with company policies and regulations
Assist in other job-related duties including construction projects, shop and yard maintenance, vehicle and equipment maintenance etc.
Snow removal duties will be seasonal
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Landscape/Grounds Maintenance industry with 3 years in a leadership role
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
- Effective communication skills – must be able to carry out verbal instructions, read labels and signs, complete daily reports to office and/or customers
- Speak, read and write English
- Time management and attention to detail skills
- Ability to work independently with little supervision or as part of a team
- Capable of operating equipment, vehicles, and tools in a safe and responsible way i.e., trucks with trailers, zero-turn mowers, weed whackers, hedge trimmer, leaf blower etc.
Work Conditions:
- Able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly through an entire work shift
- Able to operate machinery, equipment, and tools i.e., trucks with trailers, chainsaw, hedge trimmer, weed whacker, zero-turn mower etc.
- Able to work with hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment, and all materials in a safe and respectful way
- Able to work in a fast paced environment where stamina is required
- Work near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis
- Work outside in all weather conditions including heat, humidity, rain, dust, noise and cold
