We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Document & Discovery File Clerk to join our legal team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing, organizing, and maintaining legal documents and discovery materials. Your efforts will ensure that all case-related materials are accurate, accessible, and ready for use in legal proceedings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and maintain physical and electronic case files, ensuring accurate labeling and accessibility.
- Prepare discovery materials, including Bates labeling, indexing, and compiling for disclosures.
- File legal documents with the court, both electronically and manually, adhering to strict deadlines and protocols.
- Assist attorneys and paralegals with locating and retrieving documents for litigation and case preparation.
- Ensure compliance with confidentiality standards and document retention policies.
- Scan, copy, and mail legal documents as required.
- Collaborate with the legal team to support litigation workflows and streamline document management processes.
- Perform administrative duties related to filing, organizing, and maintaining document logs.
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with electronic filing (e-filing) systems and legal document management software is highly preferred.
- Basic knowledge of litigation processes and discovery procedures.
- Experience with case management software such as MyCase, Clio or Filevine
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Prior experience in a legal environment or document management role is a plus.
Work Environment:
- Full-time, Monday through Friday.
- Office-based, with potential for hybrid flexibility after training.
