What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dayshift Shipping/Receiving Clerk position at Rosenboom Machine & Tool Inc?
Summary:
Working with both suppliers and inside company representatives to coordinate all materials received. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, examining documents, running equipment (forklift & hubtex), materials, and products of incoming materials, rectifying and reconciling all issues with receivables, working with internal departments, maintaining accuracy in inventory, and computer entry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Examine documents, materials, and products, and monitor work processes, in order to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications;
- Examine contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipment;
- Reconcile all receivable issues including corresponding with suppliers to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications;
- Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials;
- Work internally with purchasing, accounts payable, scheduling, and QA;
- Enter received material into computer system;
- Deliver or route materials to departments, monitoring material movement through plant and material control;
- Maintain inventory accuracy;
- Is a productive member of his/her workgroup and adheres to all Rosenboom policies, including safety requirements/procedures and maintaining a clean organized work area, in order to ensure a safe working environment for all Rosenboom employees; and,
- Habits of good attendance and punctuality are an essential responsibility of all Rosenboom job positions.
Competencies:
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology;
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction;
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods;
- Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices;
- Demonstrates ability to use computers to store and track information;
- Maintains personal composure in a quick-paced and challenging job setting;
