Job Description
A Mobile Lube Technician for Construction Equipment is responsible for traveling to job sites to perform routine maintenance, lubrication, and minor repairs on heavy construction equipment. The role ensures the equipment remains operational, reducing downtime and supporting project deadlines. The technician operates a mobile service unit, equipped with necessary tools and supplies, to provide on-site service. This position requires strong mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and environmental standards.
Job Duties
- Drive and operate a mobile lube unit to perform maintenance on construction equipment at job sites.
- Lubricate equipment components, including bearings, pins, and bushings.
- Change oil, filters, and fluids (hydraulic, coolant, transmission) on-site as per the equipment maintenance schedule.
- Perform emergency fluid top-ups and checks.
- Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential issues or wear.
- Assess fluid levels, inspect hoses, belts, and fittings for damage.
- Follow service schedules to minimize equipment breakdowns.
- Replace worn or damaged parts, such as hoses, filters, and belts.
- Log all maintenance tasks, fluid usage, and service details for each piece of equipment.
- Inspect and maintain the mobile lube truck to ensure it is in proper working condition.
- Ensure proper disposal of waste materials, such as oil and filters, in line with environmental
regulations.
- Interact professionally with contractors and operators.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in mobile maintenance or heavy equipment lubrication.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL may be required.
- Knowledge of construction equipment operations and maintenance.
- Ability to work independently and troubleshoot issues on-site.
- Physical stamina to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift heavy items.
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to safety.
- Familiarity with operating and maintaining mobile service trucks.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour
