Reporting Relationship: Works under the supervision of and reports to the Distribution Foreman.

Position Description:

Performs labor and other tasks involved with repair, maintenance, or meter service work and related functions on the water distribution system.

Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

Any combination of training, education and work experience which indicates possession of the skills, knowledge and abilities listed.

High School or GED graduate. Basic to intermediate mechanical skills and experience working with hand and utility tools; experience working with plumbing and electrical equipment preferred.

Possession of a valid “State of Ohio Motor Vehicle Operator’s License”; ability to obtain a State of Ohio Class 1 Distribution license within two (2) years is preferred; an ability to be on-call after regular business hours; the agility to climb in and out of pits, trenches and trucks, move heavy objects (up to 100 lbs) and perform strenuous labor activities; ability to work under adverse weather conditions; ability to communicate with team members, customers, and external parties; able to maintain self-control under adverse circumstances.

Summary of Essential Functions:

Including but not limited to the following;

· Operates and maintains the primary service vehicle keeping it clean and stocked with required spare parts and equipment.

· Operates specialized equipment and devices as needed. Obtains required training on equipment and safety procedures prior to use at work sites.

· Maintains and lubricates the primary service vehicle keeping it in good mechanical working condition.

· Observes good housekeeping practices with service vehicles and in general work areas.

· Maintains hand tools and specialized equipment in operational working order, advising Distribution Foreman of issues requiring replacement.

· Performs required physical work to complete repairs and maintenance of the water distribution system.

· Completes and submits all required documents in a timely manner.

· Maintains knowledge of Ohio DOT, OSHA, and any other rules and regulations applicable to the operation and safety of pipeline construction and excavation.

· Maintains compliance with company policy procedures, and safety practices.

· Maintains effective communication with team members, customers, and external parties.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $19.75 per hour
