What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Supervisor position at ROSS DECCO COMPANY?
The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for the facility’s maintenance function: develops and implements preventive maintenance and improvement programs, responsible for and/or performs preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems (e.g., electrical, and mechanical), recommends equipment improvements to improve availability, capability, and yield, evaluates equipment improvements and collects detailed data, analyzes data and reports results, performs equipment failure analyses (including preventative and unscheduled maintenance), troubleshoots and diagnoses difficult, infrequent problems with equipment, prepares technical reports to document equipment modifications and writes equipment maintenance procedures, may support or otherwise supervise the safety and environmental initiatives within the location, partners with ROSS team members on lean manufacturing projects and other initiatives, and must display leadership as well as planning and project management skills.
Continuously improves the plant's performance by implementing lean manufacturing concepts, techniques, and processes.
- Supervises and maintains safety observances, ensuring guards and safety features are working, and .

- Communicates goals and objectives, applies company policy and trains others as required.
- Forecasts future production and facility needs and participates in the establishment of strategic business and project goals.
- Contributes to annual budget preparation. Controls expenditures in accordance with budget.
- Maintains close connection and contact with other departments.
- Supervises the work of maintenance staff, contractors, or subcontractors
- Receives and reviews requests for maintenance and prioritizes maintenance activities based on urgency and availability of resources
- Inspects building and grounds regularly to identify current and potential maintenance needs
- Oversees safe work practices of all mechanics and contracted employees
- Ensures that mechanics and technicians are properly trained for new or evolving technologies
- Ensures that all equipment and facility resources are continuously upgraded and available for use
- Troubleshoots and oversees diagnostics and repair of controls and automation
- Maintains records and documentation related to repairs made
- Creates and fosters a culture that promotes safety as a top priority, ensure employees are trained on an on-going basis and in compliance with company regulations to ensure work is completed in a safe manner and to avoid work related accidents; ensure high levels of engagement from all levels of employees within the facility through positive and effective employee relations.
Interviews, hires, evaluates performance, promotes and gives recognition and administers disciplinary action for employees.
Job Requirements
Education: High School
Experience: 3 years of related experience
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Knowledge of the plant's operation, demonstrates leadership skills, strong abilities in problem solving and multi-tasking, computer skills, solid interpersonal skills, organization skills, good written, communication, and presentation skills, uses time wisely.
