What are the responsibilities and job description for the Documentation Auditor position at Rothman Institute?
Rothman Orthopaedics is looking to hire a full time Documentation Auditor to join our team! This position will primarily be remote with occasional office days in Center City Philadelphia.
Schedule : Monday through Friday 8 AM to 5 PM
Job Summary :
The Documentation Auditor reviews coding and documentation for all services provided by the practice as well as provide ongoing education to providers regarding coding and documentation while exercising discretion and independent judgment.
- Audits physician and non-physician provider documentation for compliance with carrier and billing regulations.
- Tracks and maintains records of all audits, results of conducted audits, and education.
- Develops a pass / fail system and re-audit procedure based on audit results.
- Participates and assists actively with external audits.
- Conducts training sessions with physicians, non-physician providers, and business office personnel.
- Reviews billing practices of the organization to ensure compliance with state, federal, and third party billing requirements, rules and regulations.
- Provides monthly statistics on audits conducted, trainings provided, and re-trainings for providers failing an audit.
- Requests and reviews confidential employee and physician information as per state and federal Excluded Party and Sanctioned Individual regulations.
- Requests and reviews contractor and business associate information as per state and federal Excluded Party and Sanctioned Individual regulations.
- Creates, tracks, maintains, and audits covering physician logs for all applicable offices.
- Conducts and / or assists in Compliance department investigations and audits
- Documents information reviewed in an accurate, clear, confidential, and concise matter consistent with the Rothman Institute’s Compliance Program
- Maintains electronic records for compliance department activity.
- Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.
