Description

Rothman Orthopaedics is looking to hire a temporary Clinical Intern based in our Northeast Philadelphia office! The temporary assignment will start as soon as possible and last through September 2025.

Schedule : Flexible; looking for somebody to work 20-30 hours per week. Offices are open Monday through Friday 8 AM to 4 : 30 PM

Location : Northeast Philadelphia with travel required to our Newtown, Bensalem and Willow Grove, PA offices

Job Summary :

The Clinical Intern provides assistance to the Physician and Clinical Support Staff with daily administrative and clinical duties.

Essential Duties :

• Greets patients in the waiting room and escorts them to the exam room. Directs patient to surgery scheduling and / or front desk for checkout.
• Maintains order, cleanliness, and inventory in the exam room, and prepares exam room for patients to enter.
• Cleans and autoclaves instruments.
• Provides and scans proper paperwork into the chart for Physician's review.
• Collects thorough health history intake including PMH, PSH HX, medication reconciliation, etc; Records vitals per Physician's request.
• Prepares injections for the Physician.
• Pulls up x-rays, MRI's, CT's, and various studies pertaining to the patient's exam.
• Assists patient with clothing when necessary.
• Disposes of bio hazardous waste and sharps according to OSHA regulation, and replaces sharps containers when existing containers are full.
• Answers telephones in patient areas.
• Requests reports for various facilities for Physicians.
• Empties and restocks laundry.
• Scans appointment tracking to identify when patients are ready to be seen by the Physician and directs Physician in patient appointment order.
• Reviews Physician schedules for chart preparation including ensuring operative reports, dictations, and studies are present in the chart.
• Completes pre-certifications for MRI's, injectable, and other Physician orders as necessary.
• Scans information into patient record (including all Physician orders, prescriptions, etc. on the date of service.)
• Send Visco Injection authorization request to supplement pre-certification representative.
• Covers other areas in the office when not assigned to a Physician.
• Attends required meetings and participates on committees as requested.
• Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization
