JOB SUMMARY:
This class is accountable for helping to ensure the safety, welfare, and well-being of students at assigned buildings. The work of this class is involved with traffic control, supervising the children in crossing streets and roads, maintaining control of children while waiting at school bus stops supervising students during lunch and recess, and managing and monitoring student behavior, setting expectations, and responding to student misbehavior both within and outside the building as required.
Assist Round Lake Middle School and Indian Hill Elementary School students to cross over Rollins at Lotus both before and after school. Part time position from 6:45am-8:45am and again from 1:45pm-3:30pm.

5. Directs and controls vehicle and pedestrian traffic flow at assigned pedestrian stations;
6. Directs traffic for the purpose of ensuring the safety of students and other pedestrians;
7. Enforces school rules and regulations;
8. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with students, staff members, the public and others contacted in the course of work;
9. Intervenes in potential emergency situations for the purpose of minimizing injury to involved parties;
10. Maintains equipment (e.g. stop sign, vests, street signs, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring availability of required items;
11. Monitors students for the purpose of ensuring release to authorized parties in conformance with state and/or school administrative policies;
12. Records license numbers of vehicles disregarding traffic signals, and reports infractions to appropriate authorities;
13. Reports observations and/or incidents relating to specific students (e.g. accidents, fights, inappropriate social behavior, violations of rules, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information for follow up by appropriate instructional and/or administrative personnel;
