- Minimum of three (3) years of professional level experience working in an educational setting.
- Master’s degree in educational administration, educational leadership or special education. 3 years of multilingual administration preferred.
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a General Administrative endorsement
- Evaluation Qualifications for Teacher Evaluator (Principal Evaluator also preferred)
- Ability to maintain open communication and work collaboratively with teachers and administrators at all grade levels to foster team cooperation and problem solving to ensure progress towards goals
- Ability to coordinate multiple district-wide programs and develop workable implementation plans and communicate change effectively
- Ability to interpret data, identify performance gaps, and design solutions to improve student achievement

- Assists in the organization and oversight of assessments for multilingual students across the district, including but not limited to, language proficiency tests, state and local assessments and manages a data collection system
- Analyzes student data in multilingual programs within and across schools and reports findings to administrators and teachers so they can make informed decisions regarding programs and instruction
- Collaboratively supports the development, review, and revision of multilingual programs and related curriculum documents and materials, including standards documents, curriculum guides/learning progressions, course outlines, and instructional materials and resources
- Establish and manage a consistent, on-going data collection system for assessment data, including both standardized and local assessments
- Assists with the design, implementation, and evaluation of multi-tiered systems of support for dual language and English language development programs
- Observes instruction and provides feedback to multilingual educators to facilitate instructional improvement and to identify professional learning needs
- Develops, coordinates, and provides professional development to support effective programming and instruction for multilingual students
- Compiles, maintains, and files all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents as required
- Assists in the preparation of the department budget
- Coordinates summer school programming for multilingual students, including the development of curricula and necessary instructional materials and supplies, and supports building administrators in the selection of key personnel

Summary:
The Multilingual Coordinator is an administrative position reporting to the Director of Multilingual Education and Assistant Superintendent of Student Services. The Multilingual Coordinator will assist and work in collaboration with the Director of Multilingual Education and other administrators to support and coordinate multilingual educational programs in alignment with the district’s vision and mission to advance learning for all students while ensuring compliance to state and federal requirements.
