JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Utility
Department: F&B
Position Summary/General Description:
The Utility maintains the cleanliness of kitchen areas, service ware, preparation equipment, utensils, and disposal of waste while ensuring a safe, clean and efficient operation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, related facilities and equipment including but not limited to: dish room, service area, loading dock area, floors, walls, floor mats, carts and dollies, trash cans, dish machine and cardboard/garbage compactors.

- Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and all other items related to the restaurant operation.
- Must be poised to handle a fast paced environment with multiple tasks under time constraint. Must be able to handle a heavy business volume in a timely manner.
- Wears proper clothing, gloves, and/or uniform.
- Analyze situations and data and take appropriate action regarding equipment usage.
- Effectively communicate with management, chefs and service staff in order to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and or other employees.
- Understand and follow safety procedures.
- Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
- Meet department productivity standards.
- At all times maintain a courteous, positive and professional working relationship with all LDC personnel and the general public (e.g., coworkers, clients and vendors).
- Work under pressure; maintain regular and punctual attendance including working odd and unusual hours, weekends and holidays
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Relevant work experience preferred.
- Experience in restaurant or food service capacity highly desirable.
- Knowledge of maintenance and care of culinary facilities, equipment, supplies, and materials.
Qualifications:
- Minimum age of 18.
Licensing & Certification:
- None
Computer Equipment, Software, Machinery:
- Operate kitchen equipment and compactors (e.g., dish machine, cardboard/garbage compactor).
Essential Physical Requirements:
- This job requires the ability to bend over, hear, stand, talk, turn/twist, walk, and repetitively use hands 51-100% of the time.
- This job requires the ability to balance/climb, crouch/stoop, reach overhead, push/pull, carry, lift, and slide/transfer 1-25 lbs. 25-50% of the time.
- The job requires the ability to crouch/stoop, hear, kneel, reach overhead, stand, talk, turn/twist, and walk 51-100% of the time.
