Position Summary/General Description:
A Host/Hostess greets arriving guests with a smile, upbeat positive attitude, welcomes them into the establishment and seats them, as well as answers any questions they may have. The host ensures that guests are comfortable and kept informed of wait times.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Build relationships and loyalty with guests through sincere and meaningful interactions (e.g., learn guests’ names and preferences; connect with them individually and professionally; smile; make eye contact and verbally greet guests).
- Remain aware of the level of service being provided by servers and adjusts seating accordingly to prevent unmanageable workloads in any of the stations.
- Be a team player (e.g., work toward team goals and foster a collaborative and positive work environment; put the team first; assist coworkers; treat all coworkers with kindness, courtesy and respect; never engage in negativity; maintain openness to coaching, learning and improving; receptive to change and willingness to embrace challenges with team-spirit).
- Support Front of the House staff when asked or needed by stocking supplies, resetting tables and attending to all guests needs.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the entrance to the restaurant, dining room and/or bar area.
- Handle tensions created by crowded casino situations, and works well under pressure.
- Develop a thorough knowledge of services, amenities, surroundings (e.g., restaurants, theater, etc.), providing accurate directions and information for guest inquiries about promotions and special events.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance including working odd or unusual hours, weekends and holidays.
- At all times maintain a courteous, positive and professional working relationship with all LDC personnel and the general public (e.g., coworkers, clients and vendors).
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Must have relevant work experience.
- Experience in restaurant or food service capacity highly desirable.
Qualifications:
- Minimum age of 18.
Licensing & Certification:
- None.
Computer Equipment, Software, Machinery:
- Operate and maintain dispensers such as: fountain, juice, creamer, coffee and tea brewers.
- Operate paging system
Essential Physical Requirements:
- This job requires the ability to bend over, hear, stand, talk, turn/twist, walk, and repetitively use hands 51-100% of the time.
- This job requires the ability to balance/climb, crouch/stoop, reach overhead, push/pull, carry, lift, and slide/transfer 1-25 lbs. 25-50% of the time.
Essential Mental Demands:
- This job requires the ability to problem solve, organize, plan, make decisions, interpret data, write and read 51-100% of the time.

Work Environment Inside:
- This job is performed indoors with exposure to loud noises and fumes (i.e., cigarette smoke) and occasional exposure to hot/cold temperatures.
Other Requirements:
- Must pass a pre-employment alcohol/drug screen
- Must be able to obtain and maintain ServSafe Food Handler Certification within 30 days of employment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Alcohol Certification License within 30 days of hire
