Position Title: Inventory Audit/Control Clerk
Department: Retail

Position Summary/General Description:
The Inventory Audit Clerk will maintain an accurate count of all merchandise by properly receiving, tracking and auditing. The clerk will identify, investigate, and correct daily inventory discrepancies. The clerk also audits item signs to ensure accurate description and price. Must assist department to ensure above objectives are met in a timely and precise manner.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for receipt, inspection and verification of cost on equipment and/or goods for quality, quantity and comparing such items against appropriate ordering/receiving documents with the ability to configure proper gross margins.
- Receive and stock general merchandise on the sales floor, including cigarettes, jewelry, gas and diesel while adhering to company policies for receiving all merchandise.
- Reviews daily/weekly reports of negative inventory counts, items in stock without sales and item markdowns. Log daily theft items and items left on the Lost and Stolen log; if stock status adjustment has not been done code as theft. Researches and audits accrued merchandise payables, receiving documents, shipping documents, items sold by department number and price overrides.
- Identify, research and reconcile discrepancies such as: inventory, system/operational.
- Use research tools to provide accurate root cause analysis of discrepancies.
- Ensure accurate and timely distribution of inventory related data/information/reports.
- Make timely and accurate system adjustments.
- Add new items to file and create new records as necessary to maintain accurate inventory levels.
- Record and stamp invoices with proper GL Codes.
- Audit and inventory store merchandise for accuracy and perform price changes for accuracy and as necessary. Audits item signs for correct item, description, price, and rebate information.
- Oversee the return of salvageable merchandise
- Research and record all department rings, price adjustments, missing Front End transactions.
- Back-up all manual shipping documents with a notice of receiving or keying error form and send to Corporate Office.
- At all times maintain a courteous, positive and professional working relationship with all LDC personnel and the general public (e.g., coworkers, clients and vendors).
- Work under pressure; maintain regular and punctual attendance including working odd or unusual hours, weekends and holidays.
- Answers phones and assists callers.
- Build relationships and loyalty with guests through sincere and meaningful interactions (e.g., learn guests’ names and preferences; connect with them individually and professionally; smile; make eye contact and verbally greets guests from arrival to the property through departure; and provide fast, friendly and courteous customer service to guests/suppliers).

- Develop a thorough knowledge of services, amenities, surroundings (i.e. gift shop, restaurants, theater, etc.), providing accurate directions and information for guest inquiries about promotions and special events.
- Assist manager on the Front End or at the door during peak sales hours.
- Maintain safety and housekeeping standards and practices.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED Certificate required.
- Two years relevant experience preferred.
- Perform basic arithmetic calculations.
