As we continue to grow, we seek a Fleet Manager to ensure the efficiency, reliability, and safety of our vehicle fleet.
Job Summary
The Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of fleet operations, including maintenance, lot organization, vendor and parts management, roadside assistance, tow dispatch coordination, and cost optimization . This role ensures that vehicles are properly maintained, compliant with safety regulations, and ready for rental, while driving operational efficiencies and cost savings across the fleet. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and leadership skills, a keen attention to detail, and a proven track record in fleet management.
Key ResponsibilitiesFleet Maintenance & Optimization
- Oversee the allocation of maintenance work to in-house technicians, ensuring efficient use of resources and timely repairs.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend vehicle lifespan.
- Monitor vehicle diagnostics and telematics to proactively address performance issues and reduce repair costs.
- Procure tires and manage demand forecasting based on fleet inbound to ensure inventory availability and optimize costs.
- Coordinate warranty, recall services, and third-party maintenance .
- Ensure regulatory compliance with local, state, and federal safety standards.
- Focus on cost optimization by utilizing spare parts where necessary without compromising vehicle performance.
Lot Organization & Fleet Logistics
Maintain an efficient lot layout that streamlines vehicle check-in / check-out and enhances fleet management.Ensure vehicles are staged, fueled, and rental-ready , and optimize fleet utilization through inventory tracking and deployment coordination .Vendor & Parts Management
Negotiate and manage vendor contracts for repairs, maintenance, and parts procurement.Monitor parts inventory to ensure timely availability and cost control.Maintain service quality standards with third-party providers, ensuring work is performed on time and within budget.Roadside Assistance & Tow Dispatch Coordination
Oversee roadside assistance programs to ensure swift and effective customer support.Coordinate tow dispatch to minimize vehicle downtime and maintain customer satisfaction.Analyze roadside incidents and implement preventative measures to reduce the occurrence of breakdowns.Damage & Vehicle Claims Management
Manage the damage and vehicle claims process , ensuring accurate documentation and timely resolution of claims.Track and analyze claim trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and damage prevention .Reporting & Compliance
Maintain accurate maintenance records and generate performance reports to track fleet health, operational costs, and vehicle availability.Monitor fleet utilization, repair costs , and identify areas for efficiency improvements.Ensure compliance with internal fleet policies , safety regulations, and industry standards.Stay updated on industry trends and emerging fleet management technologies .Qualifications & Skills
Experience : Minimum of 5 years in fleet management, automotive maintenance, or logistics.Education : High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in business, automotive management, or logistics preferred.Technical Expertise : Deep knowledge of vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, and telematics .Organizational Skills : Ability to prioritize , manage multiple tasks, and optimize operations for maximum efficiency.Cost Management : Experience in cost optimization , including procurement , inventory management , and using spare parts effectively.Vendor Management : Proven experience in contract negotiations and managing vendor relationships .Problem-Solving : Analytical mindset with a focus on cost control , efficiency , and issue resolution .Communication Skills : Strong ability to liaise with vendors, teams , and corporate leadership .Technology Proficiency : Familiarity with fleet management software , vehicle telematics , and reporting tools .Benefits & Compensation
