We are accepting applications for the position of Director of Assessment and Simulation for the Physician Assistant Program. The program will be offered on the campus of Rowan College of Jersey in Sewell, NJ, which also houses the Sewell campus of the Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine. The Director of Assessment and Simulation will work closely with program personnel to develop and administer the program in compliance with the standards of the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc. (ARC-PA).
The Director of Assessment and Simulation is responsible for overseeing the planning, development, and management of all program assessment activities within the Physician Assistant program. This includes working closely with the Program Director and other PA program leaders to coordinate and lead efforts in data collection, analysis, evaluation, and the creation of action plans related to program assessments, evaluation, and accreditation requirements. Additionally, the Director will manage all aspects of clinical and technical skills education and learning within the simulation lab and related activities. This faculty member will also contribute to the department through teaching and providing academic counseling to students, albeit in a reduced capacity.

Qualifications
- Must hold at least a Master's degree as a Physician Assistant or in a related healthcare discipline.
- Must be NCCPA certified and have or be eligible for current licensure in New Jersey.
- Must have a minimum of two years’ experience as a physician assistant in a clinical setting.
- Teaching and administrative experience preferred.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills including good oral and written communication abilities.
- Must have strong organizational skills necessary to develop and implement both short and long-term plans.
- Must be able to oversee multiple different aspects of the didactic curriculum to ensure compliance with ARC-PA standards.
- Must have a familiarity with common office, academic, and statistical software.
- Must have a familiarity with survey writing, statistical analysis, and data analysis.
- Assessment Responsibilities:
- Develop/utilize systems for data collection, reporting criteria and records, including curriculum mapping and competency structure mapping.
- Research and compile statistics and data for grants/projects and self-study reports.
- Work closely with consultants, statisticians, analysts, University admissions and assessment personnel, and other university employees as needed.
- Create, monitor, and maintain audit files for program compliance
- Create, analyze, review, and present reports from program data as part of its ongoing self-assessment process.
- Obtain, review, maintain, and analyze data needs for grants, research, accreditation, and ongoing program success in conjunction with the PA Program leadership.
- Develop, administer, maintain, and analyze survey instruments, forms, and questionnaires for data assessment and accreditation compliance.
- Document, record, and present data and the self-assessment process on the accreditation application and reports, including the ARC-PA Self-Study, in conjunction with PA program leadership.
- Chair the Data Assessment Committee within Physician Assistant program, , leading discussions and initiatives to enhance overall programmatic quality and alignment with program goals.
- Simulation Responsibilities
- Oversee the development and implementation of simulation, clinical and technical skills learning activities.
- Ensure the integration of simulation, clinical and technical skills activities into the curriculum and coordinate with faculty to enhance learning outcomes.
- Collaborate with PA program and University staff to assist with the management simulation facilities, including scheduling, maintenance, and procurement of equipment.
- Be knowledgeable of and provide training and support to faculty and staff on the use of simulation technology.
- Collaborate with program and university faculty and staff to design and evaluate simulation, clinical and technical skills assessments.
- Manage the budget for simulation, clinical and technical skills activities, including monitoring expenditures and ensuring compliance with university policies.
- Stay abreast of best practices and trends in simulation, clinical and technical skills education to continuously improve programs.
- General PA Faculty Responsibilities
- Coordinate, instruct, teach and, evaluate students throughout the PA program curriculum as assigned by the Program Director.
- Participate in the development and design of the Physician Assistant Program.
- Course-direct, develop, implement, and analyze graduate level physician assistant courses in the PA program.
- Evaluate student performance as needed throughout the PA curriculum.
- Provide academic counseling of graduate PA students as assigned by the Program Director.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, advising sessions, and other related data for compliance with accreditation requirements.
- Assist with and provide remedial instruction throughout the curriculum as assigned by the Program Director.
- Assist with the comprehensive data collection, self-assessment, evaluation, analysis, and implementation of action plans necessary for the ongoing evaluation of the PA program.
- Participate in professional development directly related to PA education.
- Assist with the development, review, and revision of the PA program mission, goals, and competencies.
- Capstone project advising as assigned by the Program Director.
- Participate in recruitment, screening, and selection of PA student applicants.
- Participate in program, college and university-related search committees.
- Participate in regular faculty meetings, retreats, program, college and university committees, and professional organizations.
- Attend local, state, and national conferences and designated programs pertinent to physician assistant education and practice to enhance teaching, management and/or clinical abilities.
- Engage in scholarly activities, community service, and program related grant or research projects.
- Serve on college and university committees and task forces.
- Maintain membership in national, state and local professional organizations.
- Participate in community service activities and university outreach.
- Assist the Program Director in the coordination and production of information related to program accreditation to ensure the ARC-PA Standards are met and maintained.
