Job Summary
The VP of Client Accounting will be responsible for overseeing and scaling the client accounting department to meet the needs of a growing portfolio of HOA communities. A successful candidate will have extensive experience in community management accounting, a proven track record of introducing technology to streamline operations, and a strong focus on developing KPIs to optimize performance and resource allocation.
Role and Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the client accounting team, ensuring the delivery of accurate and timely financial services to HOA clients.
- Develop, mentor, and grow the accounting team, ensuring high performance, accountability, and a collaborative culture.

- Establish team goals and expectations, creating clear pathways for professional development and performance improvements.
- Design and implement strategies to scale the accounting operations in alignment with the company's rapid growth.
- Streamline processes to improve productivity and accuracy, ensuring the department can handle increasing client demands without sacrificing quality.
- Ensure that operational workflows are efficient and scalable, supporting growth while maintaining compliance with accounting and HOA standards.
- Identify and integrate new technologies, tools, and automation to improve operational efficiency, reduce manual labor, and optimize cost structures.
- Collaborate with IT and cross-functional teams to ensure smooth system rollouts and ongoing optimization.
- Create and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) that track the efficiency, accuracy, and performance of the client accounting team.
- Develop dashboards and reporting tools to monitor real-time performance and provide actionable insights to senior leadership.
- Use data-driven decision-making to enhance team performance and operational outcomes, continuously identifying areas for improvement.
- Work closely with internal teams (Branch Presidents, Community Management, Finance, etc.) to ensure seamless delivery of financial services and maintain high client satisfaction.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated accounting issues, ensuring timely and satisfactory resolutions.
- Build and nurture relationships with external vendors, ensuring technology solutions and partnerships are aligned with operational goals.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
- 12-15 years of experience leading large accounting teams in a client service environment, ideally within the HOA, community management, or property management industries.
- Proven success in scaling accounting operations and implementing process improvements in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
- Expertise in ERP systems and financial/accounting software; experience with HOA platforms (e.g., CINC Systems, Vantaca, or TOPS) is highly preferred.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and manage cross-functional teams.
- A data-driven approach to managing KPIs and improving operational performance.
- Ability to implement and manage new technologies that enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to drive to and from several locations on occasion.
- Ability to withstand prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
