We are looking for a Receiving Clerk to join our Rowe's Team
This position performs receiving duties as products enter the store. This role will need a strong eye for detail, be excellent with numbers and problem solving. Duties include housekeeping in the receiving area and organizing stock in the backroom and on the sales floor, inter-store transfers and record keeping. This role also interacts with vendors and customers providing exceptional customer service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborates with departments on expected deliveries.
- Receive and compares shipments according to invoices and sign paperwork
- Inspect contents to ensure items are quality and undamaged.
- Work with suppliers on mistakes.
- Assume responsibility for unsatisfactory shipments/replacements.
- Verify deliveries, invoices, and all records on inventory.
- Control the flow of vendor traffic through receiving doors
- Check and verify all items received to ensure the items listed on the vendor invoices are actually delivered and meet company policy for quality, count and condition.
- Handle damaged and spoiled products according to policy and assist in controlling the level and amount of damaged goods.
- Keep all warehouse, receiving, storage and damaged item areas clean, clear and good order.
- Bail cardboard boxes and clean dock and backyard as needed.
- Keep back-end area organized, can clean.
- Assists in other duties as assigned.
- Follow established departmental and store policies and procedures
- Assists as needed to ensure the success of the store.
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 18 years of age.
- High attention to detail and accurate reporting
- Ability to adapt and use computer skills and various technology programs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good listening skills, organizational and time management skills
- Must be able to work in a solitary condition or with a team, and have the ability to handle pressure efficiently
- Basic knowledge of computer operating systems required
- Proficient user of MS Office (MS Excel in particular)
- A passion for serving people
- Bilingual abilities are a plus
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Receiving Clerks perform their duties primarily at the back end of the store. Work involves repetitive lifting, repetitive arm, and hand movements, moving and lifting product of up to 80lbs and continuous interaction with vendors, customers, and fellow associates. Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. Frequently required to stand or walk for extended times, up to 8-10 hours per day
