Title: Assistant Extrusion Operator
Reports To: Extrusion Supervisor
Rowmark proudly manufactures, markets and distributes a wide array of innovative and quality products for our customers primarily in the awards, recognition and signage markets. Our extensive product line of sheet materials are distributed in over 80 countries around the world.
As an Assistant Extrusion Operator, you will support plastics extrusion production lines by assisting with material changes, equipment maintenance, and general production tasks to ensure smooth operations and efficiency. This role provides training in key responsibilities, allowing you to fill in as needed, except for the Lead Operator role.
This position is structured for 24/5 coverage, with one Assistant Extrusion Operator per 8-hour shift. After approximately six months of training, top-performing individuals may be considered for Extrusion Operator positions.
Key Responsibilities & Training Areas:
Material Preparation & Changeovers:
- Clean dryers for material changes
- Clean Maguire’s in preparation for color and material changes
- Assist with Naugahyde roll changes
Equipment Maintenance & Adjustments:
- Change foil rolls
- Change masking rolls
- Set and adjust knives as needed
Production Support & Line Operations:
- Help start and string the production line
- Assist with line changeovers
- Fill in for Inspect/Pack when necessary
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent; Technical degree a plus.
· Past experience which demonstrates “hands on” mechanical/technical aptitude.
· Experience with the operations of plastics extrusion equipment (preferred, but not necessary). Extrusion process training offered.
· Ability to learn new processes quickly and troubleshoot difficulties while upholding quality standards.
· Ability to operate all quality equipment as required (gloss meter, color meter, etc). Training provided.
· Tow motor certification (internal training required)
· Competent computer skills (specific software application training provided)
· Must be able to lift 50lbs on a regular basis.
