Reports To: Coordinator of Learning Resources
Date: Spring 2025
- Assist students with reviewing and learning subject material for all English and Humanities classes during scheduled tutoring appointments and drop-in tutoring sessions.
- Assist students with developing good study habits and strategies in the assigned subject area.
- Support English reading, writing, and speaking skills in all subject areas across the curriculum.
- Provide English grammar and writing support for English Speakers of Other Languages.
- Interface with developmental English classes and provide academic support for students developing English language skills through academic writing.
- Guide students in paper writing and development of ideas, as well as English language structure.
- Monitor student progress and maintain progress reports.
- Submit regular documentation of tutoring sessions.
- Communicate regularly with staff, faculty, and students.
- Attend tutor training sessions.
- Meet with supervisor to discuss tutor feedback.
- Comply with the duties as stipulated in the Massachusetts Community College Council Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Job Requirements:
- All candidates must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Must have master's degree or higher in English, Applied Linguistics, TESOL, or related area.
- Must have experience working with students of other languages and providing English language support.
- Must be able to support students with different learning styles.
- Must have good study habits and be able to share specific study strategies with all students.
- Must have excellent computer literacy skills with experience on Zoom, Microsoft Office, and Learning Management Systems.
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Must be available during daytime hours. Hours may vary each semester.

Salary: The Salary for this position is determined by the MCCC Collective Bargaining Agreement.
