The County Manager serves as a critical leadership position focused on enhancing organizational performance. Through strategic oversight, data-driven decision-making, and collaborative leadership, you’ll monitor and improve key performance indicators, ensure efficient resource allocation, and manage operational expenses. You'll lead a high-performing team of Operations Supervisors and EMS staff, ensuring alignment with Royal Ambulance's mission, values, and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Mentor, coach, and guide Operations Supervisors and EMS staff to maximize their potential.
- Conduct structured appraisals, provide feedback, and oversee quarterly and annual performance reviews.
- Manage staffing levels, scheduling efficiency, and resource utilization.
- Oversee expenses related to equipment, supplies, vehicle maintenance, and staff hours.
- Ensure proper management of narcotics, including purchasing, distribution, and inventory tracking.
- Conduct and manage audits and inspections for state, CHP, DMV, and local EMS agency compliance.
- Collaborate with Risk and Safety Managers to address workplace injuries and exposures.
- Promote safety and security measures across operations, implementing immediate actions as needed.
- Address service-related issues, lead investigations, and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
- Track and analyze key performance indicators to drive continuous improvements.
- Serve as the primary liaison between internal teams, including Human Resources, Billing, Communications, and Clinical departments.
- Communicate changes, trends, and updates effectively to all relevant stakeholders.
- Oversee facilities management, including vendor relations and budget-conscious repair work.
- Manage fleet operations, vehicle planning, and accident claims in coordination with insurance providers.
- Actively participate in companywide events, meetings, and strategic planning sessions to support Royal Ambulance’s mission and goals.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred).
- Current certification as a Paramedic is highly preferred; Advanced certifications (ACLS, PALS, ITLS) are a plus.
- Valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 5 years of EMS operations experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
- Demonstrated experience in budget management, strategic planning, and resource allocation.
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local EMS regulations and compliance standards.
- Strong leadership and team-building abilities with the ability to inspire and motivate.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Proven ability to analyze complex data and implement operational improvements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and data visualization tools like Tableau.
- Ability to manage high-pressure situations with sound decision-making.
- Attention to detail while maintaining focus on the bigger picture.
- A track record of improving operational efficiency and staff performance.
Physical and Work Requirements:
- Ability to respond to emergencies and work irregular hours as needed.
- Capability to lift and maneuver equipment or patients during field operations.
- Willingness to travel within the region as required.
