Royal Ambulance is seeking a skilled Mid-Level Technician (Class B) to perform mobile fleet maintenance and repairs on 135 ambulances and support vehicles across five counties. This role focuses on preventive maintenance, basic repairs, and inspections while working independently in a mobile service van.
Key Responsibilities:
Preventive Maintenance & Repairs
- Perform PM inspections and basic oil changes
- Conduct complete vehicle inspections
- Replace and repair vehicle and emergency lighting
Basic Repairs & Diagnostics
- Engine repairs: oil changes, belts, filters
- Chassis repairs: transmission services, brakes, rotors, calipers, tires, wheel covers
- Cab repairs: controls, radios, safety equipment, doors, windows, dashboards, seats, armrests, mirrors, wipers
Gurney Maintenance
- Perform gurney PM and full maintenance
- Adjust or replace antler rails and lock bars
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of automotive mechanic experience (Required)
- Clean driving record (Required)
- EPA 609 Certification (Preferred)
- Ford Transit, E-350, and E-450 experience (Preferred)
- Experience with diagnostic software (Required)
- HVAC & electrical system diagnostics and repair (Preferred)
- Own tools for preventive maintenance (Required)
- Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking (Required)
- Experience with ambulances/emergency vehicles (Preferred)
- ASE Certifications (Preferred)
- Shift & base location flexibility (Preferred, Preferred Base: San Leandro, CA)
