What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shop and Parts Coordinator position at Royal Coach Tours?
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Shop Coordinator to oversee the procurement, inventory management, distribution of parts for our motor coach fleet and the scheduling vehicle maintenance and repairs. The ideal candidate will ensure that parts are available to support maintenance and repair operations efficiently, while also managing supplier relationships, inventory costs, and customer service needs.
Responsibilities:
- Create work orders and pull parts for mechanics
- Coordinate the scheduling of repairs and inspections with the Operations department
- Maintain and manage an optimized inventory of motor coach parts, ensuring availability while minimizing excess stock.
- Monitor usage trends and forecast future demand to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Conduct regular inventory audits, reconciliations, and adjustments to maintain accurate records.
- Evaluate potential new suppliers and products for better pricing, durability, and compatibility.
- Handle warranty claims, returns, and defective part replacements efficiently.
- Work closely with the service and maintenance teams to ensure quick and accurate parts fulfillment.
- Assist mechanics, technicians, and external customers in locating and identifying the right parts.
- Provide pricing, availability, and recommendations for parts and accessories.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a parts/service role, preferably in the motor coach, bus, trucking, or heavy vehicle industry
- Computer Skills: Microsoft Excel, MS Word, Outlook, etc.
- Strong knowledge of motor coach components, mechanical systems, and inventory control.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems (e.g., CDK Global, SAP, Fleet Management Systems).
- Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments with multiple priorities.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with service teams, vendors, and customers.
- Ability to regularly lift and carry 50 lbs
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Nevada Driver License
- Clean DMV record
