Job Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to work in our corporate office who would be responsible for maintaining the overall accuracy of the accounts, ledgers, and company’s financial records.
Please be within 30 minutes driving distance of our office. This position will work out of our Bridgewater, NJ office and is not a work-from-home opportunity.
Duties:
- Contact customers to resolve deductions, chargeback disputes, short paid and skipped invoices
- Processing debit and credit memo request
- Reconciling accounts and making notes of debits and credits that have not been posted.
- Provide proof of delivery or additional documentation to customers when required
- Recording EFT and check deposits, applying customer payments to correct invoices
- New account setup, gather trade/company references, tax exempt forms, and vendor agreements
- Order entry, accessing customer portals to retrieve purchase orders and order details, ensure orders are processed within required lead time
- Work with warehouse, print order acknowledgements, bill of ladings or carton labels required for product shipment
- Recording transactions such as expenses and sales revenue
- Processing vendor payments to pay for supplies, materials, and other expenses.
- Sending bills to customers to request payment for services or goods provided.
- Assist in month-end and year-end reconciliations.
- Handle various other duties and ad hoc projects as requested.
Experience:
- Work in Finance, Operations or related fields for at least 2 years in one or more functional roles.
- Past Experience using an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system required.
- Possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Will communicate a variety of information to different people.
- Demonstrate ability to investigate a problem and offer suggestions for real-time problem resolution.
- Willing to take initiative and drive for results.
