Royal Financial Tax and Financial Services is a reputable accounting and finance institution located at 13902 N Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa, Florida and 6601 Memorial Highway, Tampa, Florida, United States offering individual and business tax preparation, tax planning, back taxes, bookkeeping and other services.

Royal Financial Tax and Financial Services is looking for a qualified Bookkeeper/Payroll Clerk to maintain the financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts and payments, and assist in all activities regarding the management of employee compensation for the clients we manage.

You will undertake a variety of tasks such as working closely with our clients and accounting team to record daily financial transactions into spreadsheets and bookkeeping software, compile reports, gather and organize bank statements, highlight discrepancies in company records and research possible reasons for errors or differences in expected versus actual account balances, maintain and file requisite documents for taxation compliance, monitor cash flow and produce financial reports to assist clients in making strategic decisions, entering payroll information, compiling and posting employee time and payroll data, verifying and computing employees’ time worked, calculating and posting wages and issuing deductions, earnings and other statements to employees, processing paychecks through the respective accounting and payroll systems and updating payroll records regularly.

You will be experienced in entering data with attention to detail and will have good mathematical skills to make the necessary calculations. The ideal candidate will be a thorough professional with good communication abilities while dealing with confidential information.

The goal is to accurately record all day-to-day financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and finance law, and carry out payroll procedures with speed and accuracy.

Responsibilities:

Ø Performing basic accounting functions by maintaining and recording by posting, verifying and allocating daily financial transactions.

Ø Checking accounting records for accuracy while tracking invoices and payments.

Ø Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Ø Maintaining a system for organizing company documents.

Ø Developing systems to account for financial transactions by establishing and updating a chart of accounts.

Ø Reconciling entries to balance subsidiary accounts, company accounts and statements.

Ø Defining bookkeeping policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with federal, state and local legal requirements while following generally accepted accounting principles.

Ø Assisting in the preparation, filing and payment of state and federal tax returns and forms.

Ø Maintaining payroll information by compiling employee time, production, and payroll data from time sheets and other records for all employees, as well as retrieving data when necessary.

Ø Calculating wages according to hours worked incorporating leave and overtime

Ø Assisting with monthly, quarterly, or year-end calculations of bonuses and other salary-based compensation.

Ø Managing and calculating taxes and deductions and enter data into the payroll system.

Ø Keeping track of leave time, such as vacation, personal and sick leave for employees.

Ø Calculating payroll liabilities by determining employee taxes, including federal and state income and social security tax, and calculating employer’s payments for social security, unemployment and worker’s compensation.

Ø Issuing and recording adjustments to pay related to previous errors or retroactive increases

Ø Initiating periodical payments timely, either by preparing and issuing employee checks or making direct deposits through a bank payment system and statements of earnings and deductions.

Ø Maintaining and updating payroll records by entering any changes to employee information, rate of pay or benefits such as job title changes, exemptions, saving and other deductions insurance coverage, exemptions, transfers, and resignations.

Ø Processing paperwork for new employees and enter employee information into the payroll system.

Ø Calculating unemployment and severance payments.

Ø Investigating and resolving payroll discrepancies through time sheets, work charts, wage computation and other information to detect discrepancies and answering any queries regarding payroll from employees and upper management.

Ø Preparing reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.

Ø Maintaining all payroll operations according to company policies and procedures and reporting needed changes.

Ø Processing and issuing W-2 forms to employees.

Ø Communicating payroll deductions to retirement administrators for 401(k) plans and other pre-taxation savings plans.

Ø Maintaining employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential.

Ø Advising management and team members on compliance needs.

Ø Assist other team members as needed.

Ø Any other tasks assigned.

Qualifications:

Ø Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.

Ø Knowledge of U.S. GAAP or other client industry-standard accounting frameworks.

Ø Experience in Microsoft Excel or any other spreadsheet.

Ø Good mathematical skills.

Ø Excellent computer knowledge and data entry skills with huge volumes of complex data.

Ø Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related discipline.

Ø Experience working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to meet deadlines, a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Ø The ability to communicate complex data in a clear way with aptitude in problem solving.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $24.65 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
