The Cage Lead is responsible for preparing the delivery cage for next-day deliveries ensuring all items on the order tickets are pulled, carefully inspected, and ready for delivery. Leads and directs a team to fill the delivery orders and prepare for shipment.
Job Duties:
- Read order tickets to locate and pull correct merchandise, carefully inspecting items for damage and verifying all components are present including legs, pulls, hardware, and any other separately boxed items. Perform a final check to ensure all merchandise is ready for delivery.
- Review each ticket to confirm the order details are logical.
- Send damaged furniture to the shop for repair.
- Update inventory in computer system and associated paperwork to assure the accuracy of inventory.
- Unload returned furniture from previous days’ delivery route.
- Provide direction to team members to ensure tasks are completed timely and while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workplace.
- Work independently and collaboratively with the warehouse management team
- Safely operate warehouse equipment including pickers, tuggers, and forklift.
- Familiar with computers and ability to learn software programs. Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of order accuracy and product quality.
- Familiar with computers and ability to learn software programs.
- Experience in warehouse distribution preferred.
- Leadership experience is preferred.
- Requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, & bend for 8 hours or more daily
- Requires constant use of arms, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, and back.
- Prolonged walking and standing - up to 8 hours per day
- Ability to lift and move at least 100 pounds
- The work environment is a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment.
- Must be able to work Tuesday through Saturday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and Mondays as needed during busy season.
