Job Requirements
- Valid Washington State Certificate with Special Education and other appropriate endorsement.
Qualifications
- Successful teaching/student teaching experience.
- Strong reading, writing, and math instruction skills for diverse individualized needs, to include direct instruction curriculum.
- Demonstrate understanding of state testing and accommodations for students, along with working knowledge of transition programming.
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience in a team environment.
- Demonstrated interest, commitment, and ability to work positively with students at the secondary grade level.
- Demonstrated ability to positively contribute to decision-making in collaboration with administrators and other staff members.
- Serve as a consultant and/or provider of direct services to implement IEPs for children with disabilities in a variety of settings, including the classroom, and, when appropriate, other settings that provide services to children.
- Serve as an equal member of a teaching team in an inclusive program, when needed.
- Serve as a member of the district's IEP team and assist with assessment, development, meetings, and monitoring of IEPs, and placement offerings for service delivery for children with disabilities.
- Act as a member of an inter-disciplinary team when designing/delivering services to children with disabilities, with working knowledge of specific learning disabilities, hearing impairment, autism, visual impairment, multiple disabilities, and other delays.
- Promote parent involvement in programs and services.
- Other Duties as assigned.
Terms of Employment
- Starting Date: August 26th, 2025. 2025-2026 School Year
- Salary: $54,935- $114,242 Based on education and experience, 25-26 Salary Schedule
- Benefits: Retirement (Department of Retirement Systems), medical, dental, and life insurance benefits (SEBB through HCA).
