Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for accurately processing payroll, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. The Payroll Specialist will oversee and supervise the payroll functions of the organization, ensuring pay is processed on time.
Duties:
- Process payroll for employees, including calculating hours worked, overtime, and deductions
- Verify accuracy of timesheets and resolve any discrepancies
- Prepare and distribute paychecks or direct deposits
- Maintain accurate records of employee payroll information
- Process payroll adjustments, such as bonuses or deductions
- Prepare and submit payroll tax reports and payments
- Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll regulations and ensure compliance
- Assist with year-end payroll processes, including W-2 preparation
- Collaborate with the HR department to ensure accurate employee data and resolve any payroll-related issues
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation
- Ability to handle confidential matters in a discreet and professional manner
Requirements:
- 2 Year proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial concepts
- Proficient in using software (Sage, Excel)
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to analyze data and perform complex calculations
- Knowledge of tax regulations related to payroll processing
- Familiarity with journal entries
- Experience with data entry and maintaining accurate records
