In addition, the Company also manufactures railroad cross ties, which strengthens our relationship with our suppliers in the charcoal business. Position Summary:
Provide technical support for site automation systems and network infrastructure. Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with process controls and manufacturing systems. Generate recommendations and then develop/execute solutions to correct and resolve problems.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for site automation systems and network infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with process controls and manufacturing systems. Generate recommendations and then develop/execute solutions to correct and resolve problems.
- Improve overall site integration between various systems.
- PLC and HMI coding and integration.
- PID loop creation, tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Scoping out electrical requirements for various projects throughout the plant.
- Identify opportunities for business growth by assessing automation needs, recommending process improvements, and staying informed on emerging technologies (continuous improvement).
- Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
Preferred Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of electrical and automation engineering experience in a continuous manufacturing facility.
- Experience with integrated continuous manufacturing systems.
- Comprehensive understanding of electrical systems, automated systems, industrial networks, and installations across low, medium, and high-voltage systems.
- PLC: Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
- HMI: Allen Bradley (Panel view) / Rockwell Automation
- Robots: Fanuc
- Electrical arc: flash training & certification
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Computer) or a related field OR a Technical Associate’s degree with equivalent hands-on experience.
