Position Summary:
Provide technical and mechanical support to improve production processes, maintain quality assurance, and enhance process efficiency. Recognize potential areas of improvement within the plant, generate recommendations, and implement solutions to resolve and correct problems.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Improving the efficiency of the manufacturing process and managing small capital projects.
- Assist with daily production tasks, helping to achieve production goals and ensuring seamless operations.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with process controls and manufacturing systems. Generate recommendations and then develop/execute solutions to correct and resolve problems.
- Manage the Quality Management System, ensuring it meets industry standards, continuously improving operational efficiency, and establishing product quality standards.
- Develop, implement and maintain Standard Operating Procedures to ensure plantwide consistency, efficiency and compliance.
- Identify opportunities for business growth by assessing automation needs, recommending process improvements, and staying informed on emerging technologies (continuous improvement).
Preferred Experience:
- Prior wood products and/or wood preservation experience.
- Knowledge of Quality Management System.
- Minimum of 5 years of electrical and automation engineering experience in a continuous manufacturing facility.
- Experience with integrated continuous manufacturing systems.
- Comprehensive understanding of electrical systems, automated systems, industrial networks, and installations across low, medium, and high-voltage systems.
- PLC: Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation.
- HMI: Allen Bradley (Panel view) / Rockwell Automation.
- Electrical arc: flash training & certification.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Computer) or a related field OR a Technical Associate’s degree with equivalent hands-on experience.
