Royal School is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Custodian to join our facilities team. As a Custodian, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our school buildings, rooms, and grounds. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to cleaning and maintaining school facilities, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, cleaning windows, dusting, and vacuuming. This will also include emptying trash and garbage containers, maintaining buildings, performing minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and small maintenance activities. The candidate will also be responsible for notifying the principal concerning the need for major repairs and preparing buildings for meetings and programs.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess strong organizational and time management skills, as well as the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. A valid Washington State Driver's License is required, and the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals is essential. The candidate should also have basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
The physical demands of this job require regular walking, use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reaching with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, kneel, crouch, crawl, and talk or hear, and occasionally climbs or balances. Lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds is frequent, while lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds is occasional. This job's specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
