Job Summary
We are actively seeking highly experienced Field Service Technicians to join our Hudsonville, MI team. This position is ideal for professionals with extensive hands-on expertise in trailer and truck repair, field diagnostics, and customer service. You'll work independently in the field, representing our company while supporting a diverse customer base. When field service work is not available, this technician will support shop operations at our Hudsonville location.
Position Details:
- Travel to customer sites to conduct on-site diagnostics, repairs, and inspections of semi-trucks and trailers. All field service work is scheduled during regular business hours — there is no on-call or after-hours requirement. Responsibilities include common dry van repairs such as door adjustments, lighting and electrical service, roof and panel patching, floor plank replacement, brake and suspension work, and DOT-related inspections and corrections.
- Perform lighting and electrical system diagnostics and repairs in the field.
- Diagnose and repair liftgates, walking floors, and other trailer-specific systems on-site.
- Operate and maintain a fully equipped mobile service truck, ensuring cleanliness and readiness.
- Provide professional, courteous communication with customers in the field.
- Accurately document repair details, parts used, and service performed for internal and customer records.
- Support in-shop service work when not scheduled for field calls, including diagnostics, repairs, and inspections at the Hudsonville facility.
Requirements:
- 6–8 years of experience in heavy-duty truck or trailer repair, including systems diagnostics and field service.
- Technical experience with: air brakes, lift axles, hydraulic systems, tires, lighting, electrical, and liftgates.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with customers on-site.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documenting repair details and service reports.
- Basic computer skills: familiarity with dealership service management systems preferred.
- Valid chauffer's driver’s license required; CDL preferred but not mandatory.
- Must be dependable, self-motivated, and capable of working independently in field environments.

- Pay Range: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour, based on experience, plus incentives.
