Job Summary:
We are currently looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Instrument Technician to join our team. As an Instrument Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing precision measuring instruments, logic controllers, and other equipment in our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial maintenance, possess mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and PLC experience, with knowledge of conveyor belts, bucket elevators and screw conveyors and also be proficient in utilizing ammeters and precision measuring instruments.
Duties:
- Have the capabilities of programming Allen Bradley PLC’s.
- Install, maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on all plant instrumentation, control systems, analyzers, and electrical equipment.
- Responsible for prompt and accurate diagnosis of minor problems and the implementation of corrective action
- Set up and operate limited types of shop tools and specialized test, measuring equipment and hand tools utilized in any phase of machine installation or maintenance.
-Conduct evaluation tests on valves, motors, instruments, etc.
- Must be proficient in troubleshooting 120 volt AC controls.
- Research specifications for materials, testing and repair of instrumentation and electrical equipment.
- Must be proficient in troubleshooting using loop drawing, schematics, ladder logic, electrical one-line, and P&I drawings.
-Proficient in maintaining process control loops, electronic controls, valves, and transmitters
- Perform maintenance and repair tasks on precision measuring instruments and logic controllers
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement solutions to ensure optimal functionality
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential problems and prevent downtime
- Collaborate with the industrial maintenance team to address complex issues
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to diagnose and repair industrial equipment
- Assist in technical sales by providing expertise on instrument specifications and capabilities
- Work closely with industrial electricians and mechanics to maintain production efficiency
- Calibrate and adjust precision instruments to meet accuracy standards
- Document maintenance activities and update equipment records as needed
Qualifications:
Five (5) years process instrumentation/electrical maintenance experience in industry OR two (2) years maintenance experience in industry and associate’s degree in Instrumentation or Electrical Technology
- Proficiency in English to effectively communicate with team members and document maintenance procedures
- Experience working in a manufacturing facility or similar industrial environment
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot complex machinery
- Background in industrial maintenance, industrial electrician, or industrial mechanic roles
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and ammeters
- Technical sales experience is a plus
- Ability to work with logic controllers and understand their functions
