Job Description:
The Centerless Grinder Technician is responsible for the setup, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of centerless grinding machines to produce precision components. This role requires technical expertise, a strong attention to detail, and a commitment to quality standards.
Responsibilities and Skills
Operate centerless grinding machines to produce high precision parts based on specifications and blueprints.
Perform accurate setups for grinding machines, including tooling, fixtures, and workpiece alignment adjustments.
Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure parts meet quality standards.
Use precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges) to inspect parts for conformance to specifications.
Identify and resolve defects or inconsistencies during the production process.
Document quality checks and maintain detailed production logs.
Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure equipment operates efficiently.
Collaborate with maintenance for more complex repairs or equipment upgrades
Follow all safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Ensure equipment and processes comply with company safety standards and regulations.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/vocational training preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience operating centerless grinders or similar equipment.
Working knowledge of, and understanding of, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Ability to provide technical expertise and feedback to managers, programmers, and manufacturing engineers
Familiarity with machining processes, tools, and materials.
Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
Experience using precision measuring tools for part inspection.
Strong understanding of grinding wheel selection, dressing, and balancing.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
