Job Summary
We are currently looking for a dedicated Terminal Foreman to oversee and lead maintenance operations within our organization. The Terminal Foreman will be responsible for managing a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring the upkeep of equipment and facilities, and executing maintenance projects efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Conduct preventive maintenance to mechanical devices
- Detect malfunctions through observation (sound or visual)
- Run diagnostic tests to ensure system functionality
- Repair broken or faulty machine parts
- Perform emergency repairs
- Choose appropriate materials based on mechanical needs
- Align and calibrate machine parts
- Monitor and report on project progress
- Follow safety rules and regulations
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Consistently follows safe work practices, basic maintenance procedures and contributes to a safe work culture
- Participates in job safety analysis (JSA’s), safety audits, and investigations
- Ensures compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, and follows company policies and procedures
- Perform preventative, emergency, and repair maintenance work on all types of process equipment, heat exchangers, piping, valves, pipe fittings, vessels, spring cans, and similar equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical equipment and issues; and create recommendations on measures to correct them
- Examine equipment for defects in operations, secures and dismantles equipment to the extent repair work can be performed and reassembles using various hand tools and equipment
- Operate a forklift, JLG, Scissor lift, and various other types of mobile equipment
- Hydraulic and pneumatic power tools knowledge including impact wrenches, torque wrenches, jacks, chain hoists, test pumps
Requirements and skills
- Previous experience as a maintenance mechanic or similar role
- Great understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanics
- Familiarity using various power and hand tools, such as hosts and grinders
- Ability to stand for long hours and lift heavy loads
- Problem-solving and organizational skills
- The general mechanic will work with the following hand tools, including but not limited to: combination end wrench, socket wrench, pipe wrench, spud wrench, hammer wrench, torque wrenches, hammers, wedges, pipe threaders, and similar
- Communicates effectively in verbal and in written form; accurately and efficiently completes paperwork and/or electronic entries relating to work performed
- Can work at elevated heights, ascend/descend stairs and ladders, work in confined spaces, lift 50 pounds without assistance and can wear upgraded and life critical PPE such as supplied air
- Willing to work overtime, nights & weekends when required;
- Will be required to perform turnaround mechanical maintenance activities and projects as assigned
