What are the responsibilities and job description for the ACCOUNTING CLERK II position at ROYELL MANUFACTURING INC.?

The Accounting Clerck II performs intermediate accounting functions for the Company, including processing of payroll, preparation of local and federal payroll and business tax returns, product costing and data analysis, reconciliations of general ledger accounts to subsidiary ledgers, monitoring of ageing schedules, assisting with month- and year-end closing, and preparation of financial reports and metrics. In addition, it serves as backup to other Finance Department personnel, including tasks related to cash receipts, cash disbursements, and sales order entry.

This position will entail duties across multiple accounting functions within the major accounting cycles. The Accounting Clerk II may be cross trained in multiple accounting roles and be assigned as needed.


Full-time position, Day shift, Monday thru Friday. Hybrid work schedule available and will be determined during interview process.


Essential Functions may include but are not limited to:

1. Accurately enter and maintain employee payroll records and documents including pay rates, voluntary and involuntary withholdings, direct deposit forms, and leave balances.

2. Review and reconcile employee-time records to ensure accurate payroll processing; investigate and resolve discrepancies.

3. Initiate the payroll calculations within the payroll system; review and reconcile payroll reports with time records; investigate and resolve discrepancies; print and distribute payroll checks.

4. Assist employees and supervisors with questions on pay and withholdings.

5. Ensure voluntary and involuntary payroll withholdings are calculated and remitted accurately and timely.

6. Prepare and remit timely and accurate payroll tax deposits, returns, and reports to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

7. Prepare and communicate payroll related metrics.

8. Work effectively with 401(k) Third Party Administrators to ensure the accurate and timely preparation of annual compliance testing and reporting.

9. Collect, review and analyze data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, outsourced services, inventory and labor.

10. Maintain accurate standard- and target-costing data in the Cost Accounting System.

11. Analyze actual manufacturing costs and performance; prepare reports comparing actual costs/performance to standard costs/performance. Evaluate discrepancies.

12. Prepare and communicate reports specifying and analyzing factors affecting prices and profitability of products and services.

13. Assist the Controller with the day-to-day, monthly and year-end operations of the Accounting/ Finance Department other departments.

14. Assist other departments with the preparation and analysis of data.

15. Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, aging schedules, inventory schedules, fixed assets, accruals and long-term debt; prepares journal entries as necessary.

16. Prepares and files monthly and quarterly Business and Occupation Tax reports.

17. Prepares and files annual Form 1099/1098 and other required informational reports.

18. Monitor and resolve accounts receivable issues including contacting slow paying customers and resolving issues.

19. Monitor and resolve accounts payable issues including contacting vendors and resolving issues.

20. Assist in the preparation of financial reports and metrics.

21. Complete government, vendor and customer surveys.

22. Assist Accounting Clerks with tasks related to Cash Receipts, Cash Disbursements, Order Entry, and other clerical duties such as data entry, document processing, filing, answering phones and receptionist duties.

23. Other duties as assigned by the Controller.
