Summary
The Production Team Lead is responsible for overseeing functions in Roylco’s educational department related to department management, department safety, production quality, and inventory maintenance while supporting company policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and supervise department by organizing and assigning work, instructing, guiding, and assisting employees in the attainment of production and quality goals.
- Setup production jobs and train associates on performance of those jobs.
- Lead is expected to also work jobs and maintain production rates.
- Monitor production quality and implement corrective actions as needed to maintain high standards.
- Ensure production associates have all materials they need to keep working without interruption.
- Maintain multiple job setups so that associates can move to the next job seamlessly.
- Ensure correct inventory counts of completed jobs, break down, and clean up completed jobs.
- Ensure that production schedules are met.
- Anticipates quality problems in work areas and takes immediate action to correct, contain, communicate, and prevent quality issues.
- Adhere, support, and enforce all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Proven experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in a lead or supervisory role.
- Ability to take responsibility for, and ownership of the department, including ensuring associates are meeting production rates and adhering to production schedules.
- Understand basic machine setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to anticipate roadblocks, adjust for problems, and accurately assess the length and difficulty of tasks, while meeting production timelines.
- Ensure that production is in accordance with plans, meets quality standards, and meets customer expectations..
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide team members effectively.
- Possess strong execution and coaching skills that can provide support without removing responsibility, make tough calls when needed and work with employees on development to ensure their success as well as continued achievement of organizational goals.
- Experience working on an assembly line is highly desirable.
