What are the responsibilities and job description for the Linux System Administrator position at RozTech Solution?
This position will support the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) under the Department of Commerce to provide support to core IT management components and service areas, including cross-cutting services that support the government through system design, development, fielding, and sustainment of global NOAA IT needs. The Linux System Administrator candidate must be able to support the following.
Responsibilities:
Move workstations between locations to support customer relocations. Perform quarterly baseline and ad-hoc security updates on all operating systems Patch operating systems and third-party software via automated tools Select, install, configure, and administer hardware and software systems over a LAN/WAN architecture; Install and maintain system upgrades, operating and security patches, and peripheral devices; Monitors and tunes appropriate systems to ensure optimum level of performance; Support, monitor, test, and troubleshoot hardware and software problems related to workstations Recommend and schedule repairs or replacement of equipment; Oversees appropriate level software installations and upgrades and related software packages; Install, configure, and manage the equipment and software necessary to perform system backups and recovery of applications and data; Maintain system and data files, and monitor system integrity; Develops and maintains appropriate system documentation to ensure that documentation is current. Oversees the maintenance of a library of the system-supporting process and procedure documentation; Interacts with client management to answer questions, problems, and requests regarding complex system issues; Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel.
Qualification Requirements:
Must be able to work independently to execute against sets of procedures and be able to lift 60 pounds must have attention to detail and excellent communication skills have 3 years experience with Linux system administration with a focus on Red Hat versions 6, 7, 8Yum update experience required Ansible plays experience a plus ID Management server - experience managing logins via CAC or PIV cards
