Overview:
Vistra is seeking a seasoned Program Manager to lead the Department of the Army’s Office of the Chief of Public Affairs (OCPA) in providing strategic communications, crisis communication, and media relations support. The Program Manager will oversee a team of 13 communications professionals and work closely with OCPA leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary advisor to OCPA leadership on public affairs planning and execution.
- Develop and maintain relationships with media, government officials, and community stakeholders.
- Lead proactive media engagement and crisis communication strategies.
- Produce and oversee strategic messaging content, including news releases, speeches, and web content.
- Evaluate public opinion trends and adjust OCPA strategies accordingly.
- Manage a team of communications professionals, ensuring alignment with Army goals and standards.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree and PMP certification.
- 15 years of professional experience, including 5 years at the strategic level.
- Extensive experience in public affairs, media relations, and crisis communications, ideally in a government or military setting.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lead teams and develop strategic engagement plans.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
