Medical Collections Supervisor
Job Summary:
The Supervisor will oversee quality audits, day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with established procedures and policies. They are key to steady predictable cash flow, inventory reduction and AR collection quality. A collections supervisor manages the day-to-day operations of collecting overdue accounts, including:Training and supervising: Hire, train, and evaluate staff, and coach them to improve their performance. Monitoring: Track and report on collections activities, and ensure production targets are met Collaboration: Work with ALL business partners within the company and foster a “One-Team” approach.Respect: The Medical Collection Supervisor must foster a team environment always taking the team culture and needs in mind.Resolving issues: Investigate and resolve complex collections issues, and interact with debtors to explain regulations and procedures. Auditing: Perform regular audits to ensure accuracy and compliance. Representing: Represent the organization at court proceedings for uncollectible accounts.Liaising: Liaise with internal and external auditors.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Understanding the overall billing process through final adjudication of accounts.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Excellent people skill and leadership experience.Professional attitude and demeanor.Initiative-taker and analytical person.Ability to conduct Department Presentations.Shows aptitude with Excel.
QUALIFICATIONS:Associate in related field or equivalent experience.6 years of experience in healthcare collections and/or denial management Advanced experience in medical collections management to include a minimum of 4 years' experience with professional claim collections.Advanced knowledge of coding requirements.Strong leadership and communication skills.Ability to analyze and interpret data for strategic decision-making.Proficient with relevant software and denial management tools.Commitment to staying updated on industry changes and best practices.
