What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Service Technician - Heavy Construction Equipment position at RPI Construction Equipment?
RPI Construction Equipment has an immediate opening for a full time field service technician for heavy construction equipment. RPI is a family owned and operated equipment rental company specializing in drilling and pile driving equipment. Our typical area of coverage with our service trucks is New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts along with other opportunities for air travel for farther locations. We represent major brands in the industry and are growing our service department to take on the service needs of brands outside of our rental inventory. We are looking for a technician who likes to be in the field working on equipment with about 25% of the time spent in the shop prepping for jobs or helping the in house RPI team. By April of 2025, we will be relocating our business to Salem County, NJ to our new corporate headquarters so we can accommodate our growing inventory and service department needs. Training is available to anyone not specifically familiar with our equipment, but a pre-requisite in general equipment repair and troubleshooting is required for this position.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong Electrical background: troubleshooting and reading/following schematics
- Maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and diesel engines
- Ability to read and work with Electrical and Hydraulic schematics
- Welding and fabricating experience is a plus
- Experience operating excavators
- Experience traveling to and working on construction sites
- Personable & Calm under pressure
Requirements:
- At least 3 years experience
- Valid driver's license without any major violations
- Organized and good with paperwork
- Team Player and safety oriented
- Personal tool inventory
Compensation:
