Payroll Specialist
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team! This position will report directly to the Director of Human Resources and will be responsible for managing multiple client payrolls. The payroll processors used in this role include PropelHR, ADP RUN, , and QuickBooks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and manage payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Prepare and maintain accurate payroll records, reports, and files.
- Ensure timely and accurate payroll tax filings and deposits.
- Address payroll discrepancies, inquiries, and issues from employees.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure accurate employee data and payroll processing.
- Stay up to date on payroll laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Conduct regular audits of payroll procedures to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Manage payroll software and systems, ensuring they remain up to date and function properly.
- Provide support during audits and respond to payroll-related inquiries from external auditors.
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of payroll processing experience.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Proficiency with PropelHR, ADP RUN, QuickBooks Online, and QuickBooks Desktop preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Payroll certification (e.g., CPP, FPC) is a plus.
