As a Junior Shop Technician, you will play a foundational role in maintaining and supporting RPM’s fleet, equipment, and facilities. This entry-level position provides hands-on training and growth opportunities within RPM’s operations, ensuring tools and vehicles are well-maintained and operational.
Key Responsibilities:
Equipment Maintenance and Repairs:
- Perform basic maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, filter replacements, tire inspections, and fluid checks, under the guidance of senior technicians.
- Assist in minor repairs on small tools, landscaping equipment, and vehicles.
- Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the Shop Technician or Manager.
Facility Maintenance:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop and yard areas.
- Assist with inventory management, including tracking and restocking supplies.
- Ensure tools and equipment are stored safely and correctly after use.
Operational Support:
- Perform pre- and post-use inspections on equipment and tools.
- Support logistics by helping prepare and load vehicles with necessary equipment and supplies for daily operations.
- Assist in receiving and organizing deliveries, ensuring items are accounted for and stored properly.
Safety Compliance:
- Follow all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Participate in safety training sessions and maintain a safe working environment.
Documentation:
- Record maintenance and repair activities accurately.
- Complete checklists and reports for equipment inspections and inventory tracking.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Basic mechanical aptitude and interest in hands-on work.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) and work in various weather conditions.
- Strong organizational skills and a proactive attitude.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
