Junior Shop Technician - Fleet Maintenance

As a Junior Shop Technician, you will play a foundational role in maintaining and supporting RPM’s fleet, equipment, and facilities. This entry-level position provides hands-on training and growth opportunities within RPM’s operations, ensuring tools and vehicles are well-maintained and operational.

Key Responsibilities:

Equipment Maintenance and Repairs:

• Perform basic maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, filter replacements, tire inspections, and fluid checks, under the guidance of senior technicians.
• Assist in minor repairs on small tools, landscaping equipment, and vehicles.
• Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the Shop Technician or Manager.

Facility Maintenance:

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop and yard areas.
• Assist with inventory management, including tracking and restocking supplies.
• Ensure tools and equipment are stored safely and correctly after use.

Operational Support:

• Perform pre- and post-use inspections on equipment and tools.
• Support logistics by helping prepare and load vehicles with necessary equipment and supplies for daily operations.
• Assist in receiving and organizing deliveries, ensuring items are accounted for and stored properly.

Safety Compliance:

• Follow all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
• Participate in safety training sessions and maintain a safe working environment.

Documentation:

• Record maintenance and repair activities accurately.
• Complete checklists and reports for equipment inspections and inventory tracking.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Basic mechanical aptitude and interest in hands-on work.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
• Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) and work in various weather conditions.
• Strong organizational skills and a proactive attitude.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
