Duties and Responsibilities

Department Leadership:

Manage daily operations of the Service and Purchasing department.
- Communicate job expectations, provide guidance, and conduct annual performance reviews for staff.

Ensure the department is cross-trained to maintain flexibility.

Develop and modify training documentation as needed.

Strategic Planning and Operational Oversight:

Establish and evaluate departmental goals by gathering pertinent business and financial data.

Develop, review, and adjust policies and procedures to align with strategic objectives.

Manage productivity standards and ensure continuous improvement.

Vendor and Purchasing Management:

Source and negotiate with vendors for favorable rates.
-
Issue Purchase Orders (POs) as necessary and review invoices for accuracy.

Ensure all purchasing processes are followed, including approvals and documentation.

System Implementation and Maintenance:

Implement and maintain the Viewpoint system for the purchasing department.

Complete vendor credit applications and manage vendor relationships.

Leadership and Staff Support:

Lead and support staff through day-to-day operations.
-
Assist with escalated issues and ensure timely and efficient solutions.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Procurement, or a related field. If no degree, a minimum of 10 years of purchasing experience is required.

Skills and Abilities:
-
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Familiarity with purchasing software, preferably Viewpoint, or the ability to learn quickly.
