Loan Servicing Accountant

Currently our team is looking for an experienced and highly organized Loan Servicing Accountant to play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our loan servicing processes. This position combines financial acumen, attention to detail, and a customer-focused approach to support the entire loan lifecycle. You will manage key responsibilities such as monitoring loan servicing activities, managing draw requests, preparing comprehensive lender reports, onboarding new loans, and maintaining clear communication with borrowers.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Loan Servicing
- Monitor the loan servicing process and confirm timely execution by the servicing team.
- Coordinate responses and resolution plans for late payments.
- Review and verify the accuracy of payoff statements for borrowers.
- Conduct annual escrow analyses.
- Assist with ongoing compliance requirements, ensuring adherence to standards.
- Collect and analyze data related to loan events.
- Maintain compliance with service standards outlined in SOC reports.
Draw Request Processing
- Receive, process, and track ongoing draw requests from borrowers.
- Track progress of business plan objectives and timelines
- Provide draw request approval analysis to Treasury Management for funding.
- Proactively reach out to borrowers regarding projects that fall behind schedule.
Lender Reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Generate standard accounting reports for servicing activity, including Trial Balances, Transactional Activity, Remittance Reports, Impound/UAC Activity, and Delinquency Reports.
- Reconcile portfolio bank accounts monthly.
- Generate monthly servicing invoices.
Loan Onboarding
- Review and verify loan abstracts for new originations.
- Ensure accurate onboarding of loans into servicing software.
- Monitor and track loan modifications and update servicing software with new terms.
Borrower Correspondence
- Serve as the initial contact for borrower escalations, supporting the servicing team.
- Monitor borrower interest reserves and manage timing and replenishment amounts.
- Demonstrate expertise in working with and reviewing a range of commercial loan documents.
- Promote a best-in-class customer service experience for all internal and external stakeholders.
- Proactively address borrower concerns and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE
- Education: A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred (or equivalent work experience).
- Professional Experience: 3-5 years in loan servicing, loan administration, or related financial roles.
- Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of financial principles, reconciliation, escrow analysis, and loan servicing accounting.
- Commercial Loan Understanding: Expertise in interpreting and working with complex commercial loan documents, and experience handling escrow accounts and borrower draw requests.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with loan servicing platforms, financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel, or custom loan management tools), and database systems.
- Regulatory Compliance Awareness: Knowledge of loan servicing regulations and SOC compliance to ensure all processes meet legal and ethical requirements.
- Proactive Problem-Solving: Ability to anticipate issues, address borrower concerns promptly, and resolve challenges independently.
- Customer Service Focus: Dedication to delivering a best-in-class experience for borrowers and ensuring satisfaction.
- Location: Desire to work and live in Greater Phoenix, AZ area
