As a member of the Originations Team, the Analyst will report directly to the Managing Director of Originations. The Analyst will serve as the initial screen for deals sourced from a subset of the pipeline. Leveraging the candidate’s existing commercial real estate knowledge and expanding it through a comprehensive training program, this position will serve as a springboard to a first-chair Originator position. The ideal candidate for this position will be highly motivated to grow both his/her sales and credit capabilities.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Evaluate initial loan submissions to determine whether they fit RRA lending criteria.
- Interface with mortgage brokers and borrowers to obtain additional due diligence items, as necessary.
- Submit preliminary analysis to and collaborate with Director for determining whether to submit to Credit Committee.
- Add new mortgage brokers to the database and maintain the accuracy of the existing database through effective use of CRM software, regular monitoring of LinkedIn and press releases.
- Develop and execute an outreach plan for mortgage brokers to keep RRA top-of-mind
- Meet with mortgage brokers to articulate RRA lending criteria
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE
- Two (2) years of commercial real estate experience at a mortgage broker or lender preferred
- Bachelor's degree with a strong academic record
- Experience with CRM systems (HubSpot, ideally)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and ability to learn new software
- Strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, and a penchant for research
- Desire to work and live in New York
