RRC is seeking a talented Field Geotechnical Technician/Geologist (Travel) to help us build the future of U.S. energy production from our Round Rock, Texas office. RRC is a multi-disciplinary engineering firm that specializes in energy projects, particularly renewable energy, throughout the United States. Essential Responsibilities
- Perform fieldwork for geotechnical subsurface investigation programs and geophysical surveys under specific work instructions as provided by the engineering staff.
- The fieldwork will include geotechnical drilling and sampling, visual field reconnaissance, and soil and rock logging. Additionally, geophysical surveys will consist of performing seismic surveys, earth electrical resistivity surveys, and other appropriate surveys as directed by a project geophysicist.
- Observation and documentation of geotechnical construction activities and perform construction material testing/inspection during construction phases.
- Perform other engineering activities as required.
Qualifications
- BS or Associate degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, and Geophysics preferred. High school diploma required.
- Willing to travel and work in various site conditions and project locations throughout the United States.
- Proficiency with MS Office computer programs.
- Previous experience in outdoor/field working/driving conditions is preferred.
- Previous experience in Geotechnical drilling/sampling and construction material testing in soil and concrete is preferred.
- Willing to relocate to RRC's Round Rock, TX Office.
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
- Please note that extensive travel (95-100%) throughout the United States will be required.
- The applicant must have good oral and written communication skills and the ability to lead or be part of a project team.
