Duties
- Assist the orthodontist during various procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow and patient comfort.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient visit.
- Utilize four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during treatments.
- Implement aseptic techniques to ensure a sterile environment and uphold safety standards.
- Familiarize yourself with medical terminology to effectively communicate with patients and staff.
- Operate dental systems such as Epic for scheduling and patient management.
- Perform basic dental receptionist duties, including appointment scheduling and patient follow-ups.
- Monitor vital signs as needed during orthodontic procedures.
- Provide education to patients regarding oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Support general dentistry tasks as required by the practice.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Orthodontic Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical records management and familiarity with dental software systems is essential.
- Proficiency in four-handed dentistry techniques and aseptic protocols is highly desirable.
- Understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry is beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact positively with patients of all ages.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Certification in CPR or First Aid is a plus.
