The Treatment Coordinator is the patient’s primary introduction to our practice. They are responsible for the new patient exam process and for initiating starts. The Treatment Coordinator warmly welcomes patients, assists the doctor in the exam, clearly explains treatment options, answers patient questions regarding treatment, discusses related costs and fees, and also arranges for payment.
Responsibilities:
- Welcome patients by greeting them in person or on the telephone.
- Conduct interview to understand the patient’s oral health history, concerns, and objectives
- Clearly explain and discuss the recommended treatment, treatment options, payment plans and provide answers to all questions
- Help patients understand their insurance benefits
- Manage and maintain the payment options and policies for patients to uphold the practice’s financial integrity.
- Communicate with all outside and third-party financing companies offered to patients and educate patients on the available outside financing options.
- Consistently achieve or surpass new patient start goals
- Provide excellent customer service to every potential patient and family
- Create, present, and enter financial contracts on paper and in Ortho software (Orthotrac)
- Perform general office duties and other duties as required.

- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills- must be able to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
- Must be customer service-oriented and able to communicate with a pleasant demeanor at all times.
- Communication- effective written and verbal communication is a must with all staff and management.
- Must be able to project a capable and professional image
- Must possess excellent organizational skills- strong attention to detail, be able to multitask and perform job duties in a timely manner.
- General knowledge and understanding of dental treatment and insurance is needed.
- Proficient computer skills
- X-ray certification a plus
