Purchasing Specialist

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Position: Purchasing Specialist

Department: Purchasing

Reports to: Purchasing Supervisor

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Serve as purchaser for all items used by RSi

· Track all items from order to receipt

· Review purchase requisitions

· Create purchase orders and request proper approval

· Negotiate pricing with vendors

· Report pricing discrepancies and order delivery issues

· Maintain accurate order status and follow-up with vendors on past due orders

· Solve invoice issues and coordinate with Finance

· Receive, stage, and issue material and components

· As required, assist with:

· Scheduling shipments (Domestic & International)

· Ensuring shipping supplies and equipment are ready

· Coordinating with customers and/or shipping agents

· Conducting initial quality inspections

· Other duties as required

Qualifications:

· Knowledge of and practical experience with purchasing processes

· A proactive and detail-oriented work ethic

· Strong written, oral, math, and organizational skills

· Able to follow work instructions (verbal and written)

· Proficiency in using computer applications (e.g., Purchasing software, Microsoft Office applications, etc.)

· Ability to work well in a team environment

· Ability to lift 50-75 pounds routinely

· High school diploma or equivalent

· US Citizenship or US Permanent Resident status is required

Preferred Skills and Education

· Minimum of 2 years of related experience

· Experience/certification in use of forklift and scissor lift

· Experience with hand and power tools
