CNC Operator/Programmer Job Description
Job Overview
This position is responsible for programming and operating functions, including managing processes and materials, and producing quality parts in a safe and efficient manner. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating CNC machines, including table routing, and possess a strong understanding of tooling principles. Knowledge of multi-cam, alpha-cam, and punch press a plus. Competitive salary and benefits package, per the Architectural Glazing Union.
Responsibilities
- Operate multiple CNC machines.
- Monitor quality of parts while in process.
- Change cutting tools and identify machine related problems.
- Programming using machine CAD interface.
- Be able to work overtime when required.
- Be knowledgeable of software and equipment.
- Be a quick learner.
- Be well versed in CNC terminology and concepts (speeds & feeds, etc.).
- Able to use shop tools and operate a forklift.
Requirements
- Experience in CAD.
- Be able to communicate effectively and be motivated to work in a fast-paced environment with a great team.
- Must be a self-starter, and able to work in a fast paced environment.
- Must have a positive attitude, and be able to effectively work in a team.
- Sheet metal and glazing fabrication experience a plus.
- Must be able to safely operate a variety of material handling equipment (forklift, pallet jack, etc.).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a repetitive basis, and stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings accurately.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Must be reliable and drug free.
